2.4.0-test8 works here, though I am not happy with stability yet. There will
soon be a pre3, which contains some 2.4 bugfixes against pre2.

2.3 support up to 2.3.99-pre3 has already been in 1.0.9b.

As for testing - even VMWare has sometimes strange effects. Reboots with it
are real fast, because the virtual disk is mostly in cache.
