Did that, still happens (same address). Its actually a hang more than a crash.
I'll start re-doing my backup partition for more tests. I'll also try to get
to examining the wait code to see what its waiting for. (maybe a suitable
printk there when it complains).

Oh, I just ordered a new disk drive which should get me the extra free space
I need for the root system (and some test partitions - 18G goes a long way
for testing...). It should arrive sometime this week.
