Hi,	
	Just to be sure, I re-downloaded everything and tried it again.  I even
made sure not to use the RH enhanced compiler.  It still gives me the
same error.

Just for my own curiosity, I'll try it without applying the SCSI patches
for the Dell raid controller to see if that has anything to do with it. 
I just won't be able to reboot with the newly created kernel :-)
