It was basically the usefulness I needed to know something about. Since I 
only manage one list for this module, the return value for my module would be 
the totally unexpected value 1. ;-) Wouldn't help me a great deal. But if I 
report the number of items written to disk, I may have some use of that, so I 
guess that'll be what I'll be returning.
