I'm having problems applying the v1.1.1 kernel patches for 2.2.18.

Patch fails modifying Documentation/Configure.help with the message 
'patch unexpectedly ends in middle of line'

The last line in the patch file is
'+  is always DO_NOT_CARE. This m'
