Just echo debug_ds 1 >/proc/rsbac-info/debug before shutting down. You should find a message for every device that is umounted. VMWare 1.0 is my main test environment, and all versions run fine here. Still, my VMWare version is very old. Did you try rsbac_init in a separate thread? Or a non-SMP compile? Also, v1.1.2-pre7 might make a difference, because the locking has changed a lot.
